Recovered Loots In Houses

With the recent discovery of $50 million in a house at Ikoyi Lagos, Nigeria, the fifth of such discovery in less than two months of the introduction of the whistleblower's policy. I am just intrigued to know how much we have found in the houses, soakaways, shops etc, of different individuals in the country and they are about $150 million altogether. what about those that we haven't found?

I will I am not disputing the fact that individuals have rights to earn income from a number of sources but, we can seriously dispute the legitimacy of these ones and the secrecy behind it.

Some of the culprits have claimed the monies were given to them as a gift, others are claiming it came from legitimate businesses. I guess it is left for them to explain themselves and for the courts to decide.

But here is my take on the situation at hand. We are completely doomed as a nation. Why do I say so? During the military regime, a lot of us were only looking at General Sanni Abacha our President as at that time to be the only serious and biggest looter.

Today we have looters everywhere in the country. From the executive down to the Judiciary and the common man on the street. You will know they have no shame or feel any sense of remorse when caught, it is then they tell you the money was given to them as a gift.
When you ask from whom? What you get are " they are from multiple sources."

Now I know why the western world sees Africans as gullible people and Nigerians as scammers. Because we really have no shame.

Is this how we will make the world a better place for our kids? I doubt it. Funds that are meant to keep institutional frameworks running in other to better help its citizenry are siphoned for personal uses. When people in government are more selfish than the people who put them there. That is not the way to go for a Country as big as Nigeria.
